St Clement

Steve Mather

I have lived at Henwick Road since 2011, and I have worked on the railways for over 20 years.
I am an experienced activist and a union rep who wishes to lend my compassion, vision and voice to the city.

I am a proud campaigner, passionate about our rights and well-being, especially for those who face real hardships. I understands that all residents should be represented on the council, and I want a greater say for our residents to forge a better future for us all.

St Clement ward is where I live, and I want to see a city that we can be proud of, with clean air, clean rivers and clean streets, for the health and well-being of all our residents. I want to see investment in our communities working with businesses to better support our local economy.
I also want to see best practices used by our councils, drawing upon how others authorities achieve results.

Priorities

I would support more frequent collections of our rubbish and dog waste

I want to see better monitoring of pollution in our rivers and our busy streets, so that we can keep the public informed and call for more work to be done for all our sakes.

I would support and encourage the use of public transport and active travel, to help reduce congestion and air pollution.

I would support calls for and work done to bring investment into the city from our government, working with our MP and county council to achieve this aim.

I would push for our city council and it’s committees to look outwards, to other authorities to study what works well for them and see if their best practices can work for us.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. If you want a community focused councillor who will listen and act in the best interests of constituents, and if you want a fairer, cleaner, greener Worcester, vote for me.

Please drop me an email if you have any questions or concerns.
