Bart Ricketts

Bart was born in Worcester, and moved away to study and work but has now returned to stand 
With family throughout the County Bart has always kept in touch with local politics and issues. He represented Worcestershire at athletics and now runs and cycles for charity and trains with the Black Pear Joggers.
 
Bart graduated from Kingston University where he was also elected to the Students’ Union. He continued his interest in local politics and went on to be elected a London Councillor, a position he held for 8 years including being appointed Deputy Mayor. He gained a great reputation for his ability to engage and campaign with local people and take up their issues. He remains a supporter of many Environmental Charities and works with a number of organisations helping people with disabilities including mental illness to help prevent stigma.
 
An experienced campaigner for the environment and renewable energy Bart is passionate about recycling and reuse. He worked with MPs Ed Davey and Vince Cable when he lived in London and is now campaigning for the party’s green policies in Worcestershire. Bart trained as a Chartered Waste Manager and a professional member of the Chartered Managers Institute. A social entrepreneur, he has worked with a number of social enterprise, and environmental charities, including London Community Recycling Network and London Cycling Campaign.

Residents Take Priority

Making local government more representative of the residents it serves;

Protecting our green spaces and woodlands from over development;

Scrutiny

Review all areas of council spending. Cut or reprioritise wasteful spending;

Local Focus

Strive to support local businesses, press for more affordable housing and improved facilities for young people;

Buses & Bikes

An accessible and affordable public transport system in Worcester that reduces the need for private cars and supports active travel.
